All about VIP Chows
My name is Bambi Walden and I want to thank you for stopping by my web site during your search for that perfect Chow Chow to add to your family. I would like to take a moment of your time to tell you about my background in dogs and Chow Chows.
At 10 years of age my parents adopted a stray black
Labrador Retriever and began his obedience training. I would watch
from the sidelines mesmerized while I saw a strong relationship
between canine and owner develop. At that moment I decided I wanted
to be part of that journey.
My parents purchased a German Shepherd
puppy I named Baron and together our 14 year journey began.
We
acquired the AKC Obedience Titles of Companion Dog and Companion Dog
Excellent, winning numerous awards for Highest Scoring Junior
Handler, Highest Scoring German Shepherd, as well as High in Trial
and High in Show. My proudest day was achieving a score of 199 ½ out
of 200 in Graduate Novice when I was only 14 years old.
We had just
completed the training to test for his Utility Dog title when Baron
was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and his time in the
obedience ring ended. I continued showing in obedience for a few
more years with another German Shepherd named Barrie who also
achieved high scores and her Companion Dog title.
In 1973 I married, and in 1975 purchased my first Chow Chow, and today I can’t imagine having another breed in my life. Moving from Wisconsin to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1978 I slowly established my breeding program which became known as VIP Chow Chows. In 1998, Carl and I sold our pet boarding business, A-VIP Kennels and retired to the lovely Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. Retirement was not for us and again we built and established a state of the art pet boarding and grooming facility.
Today, Mill Creek Pet Resort and Grooming Salon operates on 80 acres of lush rolling pastures with woods teaming with deer and turkey just on the outskirts of Flippin, Arkansas.
The VIP Chow Chows can be seen at our boarding facility anytime and have been great ambassadors for a very misunderstood breed. I have been breeding Chows for over 30 years with a commitment to heath testing, sound temperaments and breed standard, but more important that irreplaceable member of your family. With limited showing my dogs have earned some of highest awards; AKC Championships, AKC Bred By Exhibitor Awards, Ranking in the Top 10 Chow Chows in the USA, BOB and AOM at the National Chow Specialties, AOM at Westminster in New York, BOB at Regional Specialties, Best in Show, #1 Smooth Chow Chow in the USA.
